WELCOME TO SOCIAL STUDIES!
This year, we will focus on geography, economics, religion, cultures, and more in Africa, Asia, and Australia. We will start each class with a current event problem or concern, and we will also focus on the district goal of increasing student literary. Another aspect of 7th grade social studies is the GREAT program (Gang Resistance Education And Training) which will be taught in the spring.
We will use literacy strategies in social studies including reading, writing, speaking and listening in order to help students become more confident in their reading and writing skills.
Laptops will be distributed for student use around October 3. They will be picked up each morning and returned each afternoon before students leave the building.
