Language Arts Help Sessions: Available Tuesday and Friday during lunch. You need to ask for a note before you leave for exploratory time and your exploratory teacher needs to be aware where you are. Be sure to ask what time you need to go back to class.

How to study: 

  1. Discover how long to study: as a rough starting guide, for every hour in class you should plan to study for two hours outside of class. Then, adjust up or down as necessary to achieve your goals.
  2. Have an agenda for each study period: be specific regarding the task that you hope to accomplish during each planned study period.
  3. Use daylight hours: research shows that 60 minutes of study during the day is the equivalent of 90 minutes of study at night (Pauk, 1989, p. 45).
