Math Olympiad- If you love math and love to solve problems, then Math Olympiads is for you. Math Olympiads exposes students to challenging problems,interesting puzzles, and rich mathematical topics. Students compete with other students throughout the country. Math Olympiads meets at 7:45 on Wednesday mornings in Mr. Hynd's classroom. Please join us.
Battle of the Books- If you love to read then you will love Battle of the Books. See Mrs. Dawson in the media center if you are interested.

Geography Bee-All students will be participating in a Geography Bee which will be held in their SS classrooms. Students will take a written test to qualify for the school bee. SAMS Geography Bee will be held December 8th at 9:30 in the Media Center. Letters to parents of students qualifying for the school bee will receive a letter. Congratulations to Maria Castro, winner of the SAMS Geography Bee. Maria will now take a written Qualifying Test in order to advance to the state Bee.
Spelling Bee- All students will be participating in a spelling bee which will be held in their LA classes during January. One winner from each LA classroom will move on to the school spelling bee. SAMS Spelling Bee will be held January 24th in the media center at 9:00. I will send out letter to parents of student winners so that you may attend the school bee. Congratulations to Connor Criscoe, winner of SAMS Spelling Bee. Also, congratulations to Eric Martinez, runner up in the SAMS Spelling Bee. Connor will represent SAMS at the District Spelling Bee in February.
